Ya Ya the Panda

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Finally on another family outing to the zoo I got a good shot of one of the Pandas. Her name is Ya Ya. She was pacing the floor then got up on a rock and gave me a lot of different poses. I liked this one best.
Less than 1,000 of these animals live in the wild and approximately 140 pandas live in zoos or breeding centers around the world, but mainly in China. Memphis is very fortunate and proud to be one of the few zoos in the US to have a Male and Female Giant Panda.

Hi Jim,
Very nice subject and well composed!
I like it where the Panda is nor looking straight into the lens. The colours are vivid and sharp. Well cropped too!
Well done & TFS :)
Amazing shot of this beautiful panda. It indeed looks like it was posing for you. The details are very rich and the DOF is spot on. (I have to admit that the D2X is my dream camera). My only nitpick is that some details are lost in the blacks. I've tried a workshop to bring out some more details. Thanks for sharing and fantastic shot.
Just can't stay away from that zoo, can you? I really don't blame you as there is much to see and do there. You find many opts as is witnessed by this one posing for you! A very good post and I love the expression on her face. Almost as if she knows you.
What a lovely capture, bravo Jim, it is an eye pleasing portrait of a very cute animal. The detail and colors are fantastic. The expression on Ya Ya is worth all the money.

What a cute animal. Great composition and the sharpness, especially on the eye is marvellous. I saw Gabe's workshop and he did a nice job bringing out more details.
She looks very content.
