[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a late 19th century farmhouse in rural Wasco County, Oregon. It had seen better days. My title is misleading, because this is not the geographical area of the 1930's "dustbowl." But this sparsely-populated ranching/farming area of the Western US was and is vulnerable to the same kind of economic pressures.

When the house was full of life, it was full of color and children would play in the green fields.

I kept the exposure dark in order to bring out the brooding, mysterious quality of the house and emphasize the heavy texture of the November sky.

This is a nice one James! I like the concept U framed... and the angle is very impacting. The notes are beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Yes! The title speaks a lot of the description :)

Take care...

This photo looks like photos created by The Farm Security Administration.
It is good photo with mood. I think that it would be better if there was no powerline and with a litle bit more ground :)

Very nice!! I like the B&W with this photo. The composition is very good. The sky looks menacing and the house looks....sad, and tired, very powerful. My only issue is with the powerline or telephone line running to house, I find it distracting. Maybe PS could help with that?? Great photo!!
Michelle

I hope you don't mind, I did a workshop to see if I could get rid of the powerline, my first attempt at such!!

Nice picture; hardly to believe that here once lived a family with happy children and 'in colour'.
You captured the mood very well; your note is to the point.

It looks a bit creepy almost like the house in the cartoon Courage the cowardly dog. As for the phone line. Some things should just stay as they are. NOt how people would like them to appear. High 5 for you.
