Using the sunny 16 rule I shot the morning sun bouncing off the water, while on the ferry and added a blue tint.
Thanks for stopping by!

Linda,
This is REALLY blue. Good balance with the shining light over the water.
Wish you a good weekend.
Wellington

That's plainly striking :-) Superb job - nothing to add :)

Cheers,

Nathalie

Dear Child of God
I had stopped and that is stunning!
Great composition, nice colors and marvelous lighting.
BRAVO,
Raimundo

I'm going to be a bully here Linda... Too much blue for this pair of eyes (especially as red's my fave colour LOL)

Nice compo, interesting shaped structure and without a sense of scale it's hard to see what it is clearly so that gives a sense of intrigue...

Took another peek - still quite blue haha..

Cheers
David

Hey Linder,
Are you in one of your BLUE moods again (lol)?? Nice job on the sunny 16 rule. Worked well. Great shining off the water-- looks like a good day for a ferry ride. (I was on a ferry in N.England the same day you shot this). Have a great weekend. Julie

I must say that I love all this blue photo.
perfect composition ( rule of third : Excellent )
A very nice and esthetic shot. Pure blue. Zen atmosphere.
Minimalist and clever work Linda.
Kind regards

Hi Linda,

This is such a nice silhouette in blue - The way you have managed to capture the reflections at the surface of the ocean without burning the details or over exposing the shot is fabulous.

The only thing i would like to add if i may is the placing of this oil rig/wind turbine ... the shot would have become more eye cathing if the subject was placed using the rule of thirds ie a bit more towards the right of the frame - but the again i can be wrong too as i m only a beginner and m learning myself so u can always (dis)agree

Other then that great shot !!!

Hi Linda,
I really like this shot. The blue tones are wonderful here. I like the look of the water with the reflecting sun. The sunny f16 rule worked great here. This does have an artistic feel to it IMHO. Nice shot.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Linda,

The blue tint creates a distinctive mood and this alomst looks more like evening than morning. I have yet to try it, but the sunny f16 rule looks like it worked well here. TFS.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Linda

Very artistic presentation.
Not too sure about the structure though, without that I think this would make a great wall hanging.
Good one.

Regards Derek

i think i wish the sky part not looks so dull like that :) if you give it a gradual burn, could be looks more natural especially with the light effect on the water :)

Hi Linda....nice shot...the blue tint adds a lot of interest...nice work.

Roger

linda the blue hues are really nice and i love a simple yet effective composition like this, i find them very calming (and blue is the calming color i believe?)
is that land on the horizon?
tfs,
scott

Hi Linda,
Can't see the horizon tilted for 0.1 degree :-) Great blue image, like the harsh contrast although I'm not sure aboute the intense blue overall appearance. Anyway I think experimenting with filters is OK, so you get some feedback what the opinion of the others are. Well my overal impresion is it is a fine picture, but reducing the bluish might improve the photo.

Hi Linda,

Excellent light ,reflection and colors.
Very good job, great composition.
Have a good week end.
John

Hi Linda,
Very simplistic capture, I actually quite like the predominance of blues - Almost gives a feeling of being lost at sea. Great use of the early morning light, you have composed the silhouetted object in the water nicely. Well seen.

TFS,
Scott.

Well bully for you, Linda!

I'm back on 'that' list. Sticks & stones...

A superb 'midnight blue' shot, even if it was achieved with a little pp tweaking. Good to see a level horizon, too! Excellent sharpness, & the oil derrick structure provided a needed focal point. Tfs & have a good weekend!

Hey, Linda -
Sorry I missed this one - wow! Really creative - love the sharp and crystal clear surface of the water, the highlights from the sun and the cool blue treatment. The structure seems as though it is floating over the water rather than in it. Really nice stuff.

Hello Linda
Very good presentation.
Best regards.
Janusz
