Since I bought my new computer last year my toy Mini Cooper-S has park on top of it. This photo is part of the many photos I took while trying out my new lens a Nikkor 35mm, f/1.8G AF-S. It cost me US $200. at Amazon.com The lens is very light, very sharp but in some of my photos the images look like it was taken with a wide angle. Horizontal lines tend to bend down at the ends. Does anyone of you know why?

Hello Andre
To me, this is more like a macro :)
Since i am not having 35mm in my kit which i plan to get one, do u recommend the 35mm 1.8 or the old 35mm f/2?
The difference of 1 stop though the price is quite affordable :)

I like the sharpness and bokeh it has delivered at f/2.4 :)
Nice reflection.

By my understanding, 35mm is already a reasonably wide lens, and if you are close to your subject it is likely to have some distortion. This is a problem even with 50mm lenses and portraits.

I think you have a good result here, but I would suggest stopping down the aperture even more to get a deeper field of focus. Of course, a tripod may be needed in that case due to slower shutter!
