This runs on wheels. It has it's own toilet. It has air-conditioning and heating. It has a small TV, a music system and a public address system. The exterior is always clean and polished. The photgraphic mural shows a view of San Francisco. This is a chartered first class bus that carries people from San Francisco Bay Area to South Lake Tahoe. It is very popular with senior people. It leaves at 8:00 AM for South Lake Tahoe and comes back from Lake Tahoe at 8:00 PM. Travel time is 3.5 hours each way.
I took this picture in South Lake Tahoe after the passengers have left the bus. One of the luggage compartment door is still open.
I took this bus once, when I had visitors from the Philippines. It is cheaper than renting a car or driving your own with today's gasoline prices.. You get coffee and pastries when you leave the Bay Area. The passengers play bingo and are served hard drinks for free. It stops for 15 minutes halfway to Lake Tahoe so passengers may stretch their legs, smoke (for smokers)or buy a snack of their choice. Passengers are given coupons for a free buffet lunch in one of the casinos. At midnight you are back in San Francisco Bay Area. Each chartered bus has only two pick-up points.
At night some passengers what a movie, while the others sleep. You cannot beat that, if you have visitors who wants to see Lake Tahoe. They sightsee during the day and gamble at in the afternoon to night.
