[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I captured these carpet of Lupines and Indian Paintbrush while standing at Hat Point, a great viewing point to see Hells Canyon.

To get to hat Point is a journey on its own. A dirt road starts at the town of Imnaha and after 24 miles of a twisting dirt road you get to your destination. Hat Point, 6,982 feet high, and balanced on the west edge of Hells Canyon, overlooks the deepest gorge in North America. The Snake River, elevation 1,276 feet, and Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains, over 9,000 feet in elevation, are both visible from the vantage of Hat Point. Hat Point was named after a cowboy on an unruly horse that lost his hat and couldn't find it until a year later on a branch of a tree overhanging the gorge.

Hi Niek,
Incredibly beautiful!
Perfect definition of natural colors. This is sharp and fluid in the same time. These wild flowers are common in my area too, but you have learned to me the name of one of them : Indian Paintbrush.
The composition reveals with a great sense of space the vastness of this place. This must be exhilarating to be there!
My compliments! Annie

Hello Niek,

Beautifull composition, great flower colors and good deph.
I like it, wonderfull presentation.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards.
John

Hello Niek,

I like your low pov which captures the intense concentration of wild flowers and creates a spectacular f/g of colour and texture. It's a very pleasant journey across them to reach the contrasting ruggedness of the distant mountains.
The tree on the right makes a good focal point which shows up well against the clear sky.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hyi niek.
nice view of these flowers. it is a pity that there is a large patch of dirt on the right hand corner. maybe a few steps forward would have helped?

Hi Niek
This is a very well exposed photo, i really loved to see the equally balanced details the b/g, m/g and f/g works very fine.
IMO the empty space in the f/g (kinda hole) is a bit awkward, my eyes just fell in this hole actually (hehehe) may be u've searched a place where u could give a sequential look as at lower-mid of the frame :)

TFS

Groetjes,
Anneke

Hi Niek,

I really like this shot... even more than the one on TN. It is a bit more saturated and I like the proportions a bit better. It just seems to have more "impact"????

We leave in the morning.

Evelynn : )

Hi Niek
Good composition usuing the rule of third.
Great foreground details and colors in addition to right choose of focus point and a sufficient DOF.
The sky seems natural in color and light, but by applying some type of PP work, you reach better result.
Thank you and Regards,
Alireza

beautiful purples dominate the landscape Niek! i like the airiness of this sweeping vista!
