This is an HDR shot of a 1957 Chevy Belaire and I struggled a lot with how to crop this. I rotated the photo 15 degrees to get a better view of the front seat to fit the frame.
Well I did the big ride this weekend. 102.25 miles on Saturday and 65 on Sunday. I won't say it was easy, I'll just say that I used my training and made it through. At one point Saturday I reached in the cooler and got a hold of a drink with caffeine in it. Caffeine knocks me out. I'm one of those rare folks that caffeine lowers my heart rate. I slept from mile 47-70...literally, I wasn't doing any talking, just legs spinning, couldn't keep eyes open. So note to self...READ LABEL!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
B-)

Hi Linda,

A new look very interesting. Colors and superb play.
An HDR exceptional. Very good description provided.
Greetings from Germany,
Adrian

OMG Linda , i would have struggled too , how one manages to get the perfect POV in a situation like this, oh well i'd like to know and i would need to look at other's ideas on taking shots of cars, yep in my case to learn and practice i guess !
Perhaps more hood and cloning out the black car to its right but that must have been a tough one to avoid in the first place , the green is special and seems to be rendered well , you got the lighting under control , it seems hot on the instruments cluster but it's ok , you must have taken dozens of shots of that car Linda , you might have tried to picture the dashboard from behind the front seat with the hood in the frame, how do i know ,i would have tried one , well i believe ,he he!
TFS ,
Carol

Hi Linda,
I can imagine how difficult it must have been to frame this in such a way that the composition flows and that you want to look into the car. I think you did great and created a nice diagonal. I guess the HDR was needed to overcome the huge difference between the shadows and highlights. It did result in a wonderful exposed photo, although there is a bit of noise visible in the darker areas.
I know its an after thought, but were you allowed stand inside the car? That would have been a nice POV as well.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Linda

Good sharpness, & nice tight framing & angled pov. I like the reflections in the shiny chrome & the cyan colour. Well composed. Tfs!

Hi Linda,

Nice shot of the interior of the car. It's beautiful. The only thing that I would do differently is add one of those star "thingys" on the steering wheel or outside mirror. It just reminded me of an old advertisement that may have used them during that time. You know, like the sparkles shown in those old toothpaste ads. hahahaha... You got it all in there Linda. :) Lisa

Hi Linda..nice shot of a classic...well composed..nice light and details.

Roger

Hi Linda:
Never seen this before and thanks for the notes...from a photographic perspective most excellnt details, shapness, colors & lighting:)
Thanks
David

Hello Linda,

I really think you hve done well with this crop.
Your pov is very original and it gives the viewer the impression that they are just about to enter the car.
The focus is sharp and reveals the details of the dashboard furniture very well.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Linda,

You have to love his car from the fifties, by the HDR is really a brilliant idea.
Have never tired of seeing your composition.
details emerge from this angle, the seat backs, the odometer.
The two-tone color, clarity.
everything is excellent.
A good day and the best.
John
