[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is something that I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now, but couldn’t seem to find the time. Yesterday presented the perfect opportunity, so here it is. The dragon is a trinket I bought for one of my kids when I visited San Francisco’s Chinatown many years ago.

I used a thick black cloth material for the base and background. Light is diffused natural light through a red umbrella.

PP work:
-Totally desaturated the black background.
-Contrast +
-Color saturation +
Crop, resize and sharpen.

Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

Hi Werner!

I like this Werner, and the info always helps me. I tend to forget exactly what I did to a photo. The dragon sure seems to blend into the background. At first, I thought it was layered.

Have a good day!

Dennis

Hi Werner

Good pp work, with excellent colour & lighting contrasts. Superb textural details in the dragon scales. Good framing & reasonable dof & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Werner,
You've done well ! Good still life- nicely composed. Nice bright colors and contrast really make the dragon 'pop' against your black bg. Good close crop. TFS Julie

Hi Werner, my friend

Nice capture of the furious dragon :)
The colors of the dragon stand out very well against the black BG. The sharpness and POV are perfect with nice DOF.
Nice PP work.

thanks and regards,
Paras

PS: Sorry, Werner! I am finished with my points for today. Hope you won't mind.

It looks like the dragon is close to the fire. Nice idea and well executed. TFS
warm regards
David

Well presented, Werner. This deserves a mural in a Chinese restaurant. Great capture of color! Great job with the background and lighting.
