I did not use a tripod here, however the camera was on a railing, that was set up around the indoor Merry-Go-Round. I wanted to capture the motion blur, took about 20 shots, this one I like.
Hope you like it too!

Wow Linder,
I am DIZZZZZZZY--- great experiment. I love the blur but also the strong colors on this. Good outdoor diffused lighting. Well done - it is very cool. TFS Julie

I like your experiment and I've played a bit because I feel the need for more color and contrast (maybe in order to diminish the visibility of the windows/outdoor lights which are kind of distracting for me)
See WS and tell me what you think

sincerely yours,
v

Hi Linda,
Cool motion effect. The light became wonderful little stripes. I love that you can see through the lights and see the ceiling. Good use of what was available to rest your camera on. This would be cool to see at night.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Linda

Yep, railing = tripod! Superb motion blur yet still with good sharpness in other areas. Wonderful streaked colour of the Merry go round. Well managed nocturnal light, with excellent shadow detail & contrast. Tfs!

Hi Linda,
Superb!Be proud of this exêriment!
I like much the circular motion here! The use of the railing as a tripod is cleverly done.
The backdrop so clear is very interesting, it emphasizes the motion blur. Sharp and contrasting colors.
Bravo! Annie

Hi Linda,
I like this. It meets two areas that makes me want to say something (1) It screams LOOK AT ME (2) It leaves the viewer wondering what's coming next.Great capture.
Thanks for sharing,
Johnny

Man ,you Texan's like your Merry-Go-Rounds fast, this one looks as though it will break the sound barrier:)I would think it's not an easy subject to capture, to show off the daylight this well, plus achieving the correct exposure with the Merry-Go-Rounds Lights.Well done Linda.

whooooa.
now i feel dizzy. ;-)

nice experiment.
you definitely get the feeling of speed from this.
did you manage to capture some pics where you can see the people on it. i think that would be interesting to see.

your wobbily legged pal,
Brian

Hi Linda,
This is quite unusual experiment for me but it means that this is so inspiring. Should try to do this kind of experiment too oneday. TFS, Imelda

My kind of shot this - always like a bit of motion blur!! The light levels are good and sharpness is fine. Rocks, railings, car bonnets (that's hoods to you) all work equally fine..

Cheers
David

Hi Lida
Beautiful.

Oh man, Linda,
that is COOL. I love the way the motion stretches the colored lights on the carousel. The sense of movement is fabulous. I like the way you have off-centered it, too. It has a ghostly look to it that's very appealing. Great job! Many thanks and warmest wishes,
Shelly

Hi, Linda -
GREAT stuff! Great idea to improvise the tripod using a railing. 4 seconds is a long time but the effect is smooth. Great colors and good choice to crop this way. I have one a bit like this in my gallery but I like yours better. Excellent!

What surprises me most is that you managed to control the outdoors light as natural as it should be normally and that in a 4 sec long exposure ,now that 's good ! Shouldn't there be continious lines of colors instead of broken ones , i mean 4 secs ought to produce streaks ,no ? oh man i need some sleep ,
Thanks Linda for your little experiment ,fun to try !
Carol

Woah! Freakishly cool image Linda! Looks like a large UFO landing or something. Very intriguing experiment, bravo.

TFS,
Scott.
