[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I shot this last night on the way to my daughter's drama performance at her school. It was an exciting night for her as she won "Best Actress" from local San Diego theater judges. But, enough from the proud father... I have invested in another Ebay special. I liked my G6 so much that I bought a G5 in nicer condition to use as a backup. Driving by the bay after sunset, I tried a few long exposures. Once again, I had no tripod so I braced the camera body against various body panels of the car. This is a shot from Shelter Island showing a catamaran against the backdrop of the city in twilight. The Emerald Towers and even the lights on distant Mt. San Miguel radio tower show up well in this shot.

Like the G6, the G5 has an f2 to f3 4X zoom lens. It is 5MP instead of 7, ergonomically does not fit the hand or work as well as the G6. On the G5, your thumb inadvertently lands on buttons that alter settings which are better left alone. I had almost no time to do much to this image. On iPhoto, I increased sharpness and saturation, and cropped and resized the image.

Ciao Gilbert

Beautiful panoramic of this part of San Diego.
I like the softness of the boat in the water
and the beautiful presentation of the building in the background.
Amazing shapes and details in this great picture.
Greetings my friend ...

Hi Gilbert!

My golf story sure does apply to you.

You sure are a blessed man, and I'm very happy for you! It sounds like you have a very balanced life, and this is extremely important.

You should be very proud of your daughter. This is great! My daughter if full of drama, but I don't see it on a stage. :)

I really like this photo Gilbert. There is absolutely no way I could hold still enough to take this shot, and it wouldn't matter what I tried to support myself on. My compliments!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday in sunny California!

This is a superb posting, Gilbert.
Amazing good quality for a G5. Of course there are many things not so good, technically, but the composition and the background/skyline are splendid !

Fantastic Gilbert ... love the blue hour colors. The ccity skyline in the back is a perfect backdrop, and I love the shallow panoramic crop. Great shot.
By the way, I find your notes to be very interesting and always engaging :)
Have a nice weekend
Greetings from chilly Canada!

Hi Gilbert,

Looks like the end of the blue hour! The panoramic format suits the composition well and the catamaran provides a nice point of focus for the viewer. It's nice to hear that you have a talented daughter, you should be a proud papa!

Getting ready to be socked-in by a major snow storm :(

Have a nice weekend.

Very nice night-shot with the light of the BG. Lovely blue tones in contrast with the red spot-lights.
Best regards
