[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Similar to another photo I posted where the "main subject" is out of focus. But this time the main subject is in the background.

I found this guy sitting all alone at a wedding reception. He sat there for a long time, just sipping at his drink. I found it interesting to show him, and yet hide who he really is and show only the emotion, by not focusing on him. Yet, by focusing on something (the plant in front) the image does not feel like a mistake, but instead feels like it was done on purpose.

I totally agree with what you wrote in your note. Focusing on the foreground plant achieved the loneliness you wanted. I like the Bokeh in the background too. Well done.
