[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A building down under the Brooklyn Bridge had this open window with a man walking back and forth. At one point he sat down and read for a bit. His view is one of the Brooklyn Bridge and downtown New York City, not a bad view.

The original was too dark inside the window so I brightened the interior a bit to bring the view to life.

I titled this Brooklyn, America because I think sometimes NYC gets a bad rep for not having enough pride in our country, but that's not really true. I saw that flag flying in front of this building and know there are plenty of people living in NYC, of all different backgrounds, that love this country as much as the next state.

That's an awesome picture Daniel. Something about it makes me smile. Thanks for sharing,

Glen

I love this old brick building, the old windows have such character, much more so than any new construction I've seen. The man at the window makes one imagine all kinds of interesting stories behind the photo. Very nicely balanced with the blue sky, flag flying and the ironwork fire escape to the right, well done. A very pleasing photo.

This is really good, Daniel! Love the way the flag seems to be specially lit, the brick, the fire escape, the guy in the window, clouds' reflections...really glad you spotted this!

This picture is too nice hehe! It just the kind of scene that I like the comment you give is just perfect!

Bravo!

Hi Daniel,
Nice shot! Nice composition...everything flows well with each other. There's nothing centered so there's nothing fighting for attention; good left to right flow. Exposure and colors, look good, as far as I can guess (I'm stuck using a new monitor that hasn't been adjusted, yet). I like the flag used along with this man going about his business...shows, that pride is an everyday part of life...even if we're not standing around parading it.
Interesting note. I've always thought the stereotype about New Yorkers weren't that they didn't have pride, but something else....
Good work.
Take care!
Richard

Another good daily life shot of New York, Daniel. I really like your NY series as it really gets to the heart of the city and show the life as is without artifice. The man in his appartment adds a lot to this picture and you did well in bringing it to life with your PP treatment. I like the two windows that use to be the same but now one has lost its decoration. Well done!

wow. great shot! Very classic looking. Make it b&w with some grain and it would look like that famous NY photographer. Can't remember his name right now. Anyway, great exposure all throughout. JP

All fits well in this pic. Especially the light and colors. And you captured the mans figure so smoothly, avoiding risk of having the pic static.

Also, you croped perfectly, giving room to the blue-sky as comparative color.

It was worth waiting for him to stop.

Compliments!

HI Daniel

Another nice shot from daily life in USA. I like the way you composed the image. Makes it dynamic. Colours and light are very nice too. This building looks like a very old and lacking care. The right window is missing its parts and paint is falling. Despite all that the man looks proud inside and the flag stands colourful and new. Very nicely done!

take care, Stef

:)) smile for you

I hope that this isnt an invasion of privacy. Just kidding... Life is very interesting, especially when it's someone else's.
