An escalator in a Brooklyn train station.

My motivation for compositions such as this one are to avoid any human distraction entirely. That is unless of course I'm using people as subjects.

Possibly if someone was almost at the bottom of the stairs with an interesting pose I would use it. Otherwise I look for images like this one.

Not much to report on the technical side. Maybe a small slice of crop and a dash of contrast and sprinkle of brightness.

This photo was meant to be B & W. How industrial looking subway systems are, and you captured that perfectly!

Black and white is perfect for this shot. I like the lines. :)

Daniel, I like your idea and I think you placed the lines in the righ places. I would like to see some motion in this. Of course that would have required a tripod and a shutter speed of probably 1/15 sec or longer. I think it would really have made this one snap! B

Indeed an intersting idea... I like the " avoid any human distraction entirely". I also like to take photos where human presence is not an option ;) and it is hard i must agree.
but you menage well here. maybe one should star to go to train and tube stations very early or very late ;))
Good job Daniel

take care, Stef

Hi Daniel... I am scared of escalators... I have a phobia for them since I slipped off once ... :( This looks more scary to me :( . Good shot! I like the whole 'Avoid any human distraction' concept... Good idea... :) I like the 'Not much on the technical side' note :)) LOL! I like the crispness of this shot and how the light plays :) Thanks for sharing :)

Take care...
- Hima.
