Taken at a party a few weekends ago, this is my friend mixing on his turntables. It was his party and he was dj'in the event, and did a nice job. Everyone was dancing and having a good time.
I stood behind him and raised my camera up over his head to get this birds eye view.
I'm a big fan of DJ music especially break beats by artists like DJ Shadow, Kid Koala, x-ecutioners, and Cut Chemist.
So basically I was excited at the chance to get some shots like this.
Converted to B&W and cropped to create this view.
Not sure how well a shot like this will be recieved on TL but I love stuff like this and am quite pleased with it. |

hey dude, good to see some shots like this. thought i'm the only fan of record decks here but i'm not alone! :) i see a pair of Technics SL-1200 MK2 but the cartridge fitted is not the usual and the more popular Ortofons. you'll find photos like this at Flickr. you can join our group "Technical Wax Rotation" and feast your eyes, dude!

cool shot, you should try one at bugs eye view with a wide angle lens right at the turntable with his hand spinning.
we have similar tastes in the muzak. DJ shadow is a modern day Mozart IMO.
Some names I like - Plaid, Funki Porcini, Kid Loco, Boards of Canada, Atom Heart, Bonobo, Dan the Automator

Thats cool shot!
I rally like B&W and Ur POV. I'm a big fan of this DJ music, too. This is great.
Take care!
Lukas.
Oh !I missed this one too. This is an awesome shot! Great job for just holding it up over his head. B&W was a good choice. I like it sharp like this but it would be cool to see a little blurrier one too. to show the movement of the turntables and his hand. Nice job. Ever seen the movie "Scratch"? :) JP
hi daniel,
