"Care for a Game of Chess?"

This is the second in the series of the NYC Trek Freaks.

*See JP's picture of me taking this picture*

There are several chess boards set up around Washington Square Park, located in Greenwich Village, NYC. This man was offering me a game and allowed me to snap a few shots of him.

I told him I didn't know how to play chess (which isn't true but I didn't have time to sit for a game).

Typically what these guys do is play you for money and usually wind up winning because they are quite skilled. I probably would have been beaten badly, and quickly.

Converted to BW, brightened a bit and a minor amount of grain added.

I like JP's shot and the fact that we were thinking along the same lines. Our submissions so far have been in synch with each other which is pretty cool.

Yeah, I can tell that guy is good at chess. Don't know why but he just looks good at it. :) Really nice b&w. I made mine b&w before I saw yours too. Great minds think alike!
His hand gesture really adds a lot to the photo. Nice job. JP

sly grinning devil ain't he?
catching his arm leading to the table is just right

Hi Daniel,
I am coming from JP to see what you have done dancing in front of this man :-))
This is a good one very well framed for a character portrait.
This man and his activity are superb.

I like what he's doing with his hand- like he's inviting you to give him your money. Business, I guess. Good composition.

I'm enjoying seeing yours and JP's pictures. Nice you guys got together. This is a great shot and well suited to black and white. Good focus and sharpness.
