The Mingus Anti-Smoking Campaign
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Everyone say hello to Mingus, my cat.
He doesn't like smoke so much, and will be happy when I finally quit (I'll be happier as well).
This is a cute little triptych I took last weekend in my apartment while a friend was over hanging out. We were having a cigarette or two and Mingus as you can see showed his disapproval.
I try not to smoke near him and usually he goes away and doesn't sit near me. But when I get my camera out he likes to get in a shot or two as you can see (or three here).
Tech Notes: ISO was turned up, no flash. It was difficult maintaining quality at the small 800 size Trek Lens requirement. This original file size is over 70MB so you can see I did what I could. I wanted to try squeezing the shot a bit so tightened the width in "Image Size" by not constraining the proportions. It's something I'm going to experiment with in the future.
Hope you enjoy. |

Funny series shot here!
It could be a good campaign for the Lung Association.
Good thinking!

Fun triptych, Daniel! I like how the cat has its head turned around when your friend is actually taking a drag! Good POV on the pictures, and nice ambient colours. Good job!

Great sequence shot. Nice colors and Mingus really adds some character. Cats always seem to have so much personality.
I quit smoking three years ago next week so I know how hard it is. Good luck.....

hahaha your cat is really funny!! I do like your compostion!!
70MB??? You sure there wasn't a trojan virus on that thing? :)
Great triptych. You are very good at those. It is perfect that Mingus is looking back right as she is taking a drag off her ciggarette. Nice job. JP
Hahah, Mingus is not amused. I don't think I've ever seen a cat roll it's eyes before ;)
I like the lighting in this shot and the narrow view you've created in each element. Of course, Mingus makes it ;)
