[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Maybe someone can help me with my uploads. I have been tryingg to upload pictures to TL for the past couple of days but the upload manager keeps telling me I can not upload pictures greater than 800 P. I have sized this photo (among others) over and over. It finally allowed me to send it at 490 P. What am I doing wrong?
About the picture:
This was taken at the Space Needle State Park in Seattle, Washington. I have dreamed about going to Seattle for years and it more than lived up to my expectations. I hope to see more of Washington on a vacation, rather than work someday.
PP: sized, cropped, sized, brightened, sized, contrast increased, sized, sized, sized, sized, deleted, recreated, sized and did it all over again. Did I mention sized?

Wonderful picture. I know the upload manager limits you to a particular file size too. Can't remember what size it is off the top of my head, but that could also be part of your problem. I love the contrast of the brilliant sky in the photo, with the shadowed space needle in the foreground. Thanks for posting the beautiful photo.

Aaron,

When was this picture taken? I've been to Seattle as well and have a few pictures of the needle, don't know what to say about the upload manager, keep posting.

Aaron, for this web site, I believe your picture can be on the longest side no more than 800 and the file size no more than 200mb. If you are using Photoshop, go to file, save for the web, when the box pops up change your image size to 800 on the longest side, go up to the top of the page to quality, make that less than 100% tell it to apply. Then look in the bottom left corner for how big the file is. If it is over 200, just go back to quality and make the adjustment, go out of the quality box and see in the corner what size it is. You can adjust until you get it right.

Back to your photo, it is very nice, I have been to Seattle many times and it is getting very large.

hi aaron,
this looks like a space shuttle:-)it looks too high, maybe that's why u could upload it so hard:-)
just joking,I hope u could solve the problem with kathleen's advises.
regards

Hi Aaron,

Haven't had a chance to upload yet, but you are getting some good advise....

I remember you taking that photo...was it during the war?

I think this is a great pic! I believe the contrast could be upped a bit but is a good capture... Well done!

I love this beautiful sky behind the space needle. The different layers of color and cloud are very beautiful. I had the same problem with uploads when I first started posting, until I learned I could change the file sizes, I'm glad I'm not the only one! Very lovely shot, well done.
