The red wash of the wall behind, the orchid as a floral decoration, remind me of Matisse, my favorite painter.
Shot this afternoon at the orchid show in Golden Gate Park, with a 135mm Canon, an unforgiving beauty of a lens I have just acquired. |

I'm glad to say as first one:Welcome to TL Herve!
With a nice poetic shot for start here,

Hi Herve,
Nice shot. Good uncentered composition, it lends to give better eye movement across the entire frame. Nice pov...the angle you took it against this background works wonders. The green is a nice contrast to the red. The image is a little soft, though. But, the details looks recoverable. Nice colors and exposure, by the way. Good job.
And, welcome to TL!
Richard
Hi Herve!
I'm glad to see you here on TL! Welcome!!!
A lovely first photo! The exposure is very nice and the red wall creates a nice contrast as well as complementing the colors of the flowers.
Cheers,
Skye

HELLO HERVE.
Because of the Background that you choose, you managed to emphasize the colors and the textures of these beautiful flowers. A great Job and a perfect choice for a first post!
Congratulations.
