This an F-16 that is part of the US Air Force Thunderbirds. It was about midway through the JSOH Airshow and this was a tease of sorts before the big show later on. All the pilots went out and fired up their engines, which are excruciatingly loud. The main thing I like about this one is the jetwash distoring everything in the background. I also like the detail and sharpness which, in this particular photo, looks pretty good for a 3.2MP camera.
I ran it through Auto-Contrast and Auto-Levels in PS. |

Hey Matt,
You have captured a glimpse of that awesome power and heat produced by this plane. Basically no PP work and yet such a neat image. Love the distortion of the background against the sharp patriotic foreground. Peace out, Jay
Nicely focused.
Nice plane.
I love it.

It seems we share the same passion Matthew.
I too frequently visit airshows (Pending british weather allowong the show to take place. All major shows last year were rained off)
I was lucky enough to be part of the same treatemnt of the thunderbird's display in 2007.
Good contrast and colours. The Thunderbirds are a difficult bird to get right on the exposure levels especially in the sky, due to the white fueslage and bright skies.
nice shot,
well done
