[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here are seven gunner's mates (GM) on board USS Enterprise practicing a 21 gun salute for a retired Captain that wanted his remains (ashes) to be a burial at sea.
I think the motion tells a lot because you can only see one gun and the hands of the people show the action and precision it takes to be one key.

very minor PS work

Wow Riz, great capture of this very decisive moment! I like the choice of Black and White here. Good motion of their quick hands, also noticed the girl, third to last, she rocks! Good job Dave, keep these military images coming...

Thanks Dave, I like your action shot here.
God's best,

TIm

Excellent photo! You have catch the all action very well! Great job!

They're very precise. They're all doing the same thing at the same time. Staying steady and not moving the rest of their body. Very well captured, especially in such a difficult lighting.

I really like the movement and perspective on your picture. Also their concentration to make it successfull.
Congrats.
Alex

Very good motion blur. Black and white suits this picture very well. Split second timing. Very well done.

Perspective, repetition and capture of movement are excellent, Dave. This can only be done in B&W. The low light conditions - as well as their concentration - add to the scene. But most of all I like their hand movements gradually being lower the further back you look. And when the eyes walk up front again, it's as if they actually move their hands! Brilliant - very well done!

I love the military images Davian, your shot shows one smooth motion between the seven gunner's mates, very good capture.

Really interesting, i like very much your note is useful and what can i say about the Photo? IS GREAT!! i like that shadows, definition, blur, everything is great, Excellent work. =)

very nice...order yet expressive

Good timing, i like the sequence partially shown by the GMs blurred hands. I've never a tried an IR filter, but the end result in b&w is great, an interesting view of the military practicing and practicing and practicing. Well done.

Dear Davian, I like how the head are in one line and the feet seem to form a diagonal. Indeed the motion makes this picture special as you said. That no one is directly looking at the camera is good as it shows how they are focused on their task. Nice work !!!
BTW GM also stands for grandmaster in chess and right now the world championship takes place in Switzerland and Kramnik leads 1,5 - 0,5 against Leko. Just in case that someone is interested ;-) Yours, Jan

Nothing is more truth... ;)
Very nice shot. Works good!

Spoony.

Perfect capture of the movement. B&W is an excellent choice for this kind of shot. Great !

Great stop action photo. You've captured the synchronized motion very well. The lighting is excellent. Well done.

A lot has been said about this..let me add...I like the motion blur very much. Cool!!!

Top notch!

I was thinking and writing about my roommate and suitemates from my college days recently...when they were doing drill team practice. Love the tight crop! Enhances the overall crisp feeling of the photo.
