[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have been extremely busy with work lately and it has taken me out of town. I returned home to see my Christmas Cactus is full bloom. I counted over 300 blossoms with 1/4 fully opened. It was a wonderful site. Usually it does not bloom until the 2nd week in December, so this was a wonderful surprize.
Camera was hand held, the reason for the blur. I cropped, resized and uploaded.
I took this picture without flash, instead using natural window light.
I hope that you enjoy.
Maybe the name should be changed to a Thanksgiving Cactus, as it has opened just in time for American Thanksgiving.

That is so beautiful Liz. The plant must look terrific with all its flowers opening. The light shining through the flower is quite irridescent. I think I prefer the blurred effect too. TFS, Janice

How interesting that both our Christmas Cactus are blooming early! You have done well in capturing the beauty of the flower. I have found that it is a very difficult flower to photograph!....:O)

Superbe, les couleurs sont vraiement belles et flashantes (en plus sans flash!).
Cette fleur, par sa lumière, semble pleine de vie et de force.
dommage que la fleur soit un peu coupée mais ce n'est vraiement rien.Encore bravo.

Haughtiness, colours are really beautiful and flashantes (in more without flash!).
This flower, by the light, seems full of life and power.
Damage that the flower is a little cut but it is not really anything. Still bravo.

Liz, j'ai un Cactus de Noël qui me donne exactement la même fleur que le vôtre. Votre photo sans flash est à mon avis une réussite. C'est très vrais que ce n'est pas une fleur facile à photographier, j'ai moi même fait quelques tentatives et je n'ai pas toujours été satisfaite des résultats. Très bien fait...
