I encountered this flowering(?) plant while at a tiny piece of remote land near the base of the Galveston Causeway that has been set aside as a wildlife preserve. The piece of property is only about a quarter of a mile long by 150 feet wide and is mainly marshland. I have never before seen a plant such as this fern that produces a faux rose but I thought it to be quite unusual and beautiful. Each fern was covered with blooms(?) such as this one. I assume, it being a fern, that this is a seed pod. I will continue to search for the identity of the plant. |

Great bokeh and awesome focus. This is a very good macro shot. I have no idea what the flower is but you captured it very well. I am very impressed with your up close shots on TL. I think this is where you excel. You have a very good eye for the details of close up objects. Keep it up my fiend.
I have no idea....my goodness! Never have seen that before! Really nice catch on that Jim! I'll have to do some research on what this thing is! Really weird!B-)

I think it is a cluster of seed pods that look like a flower. They look almost like pea pods. Awesome shot!
I don't believe that plant is a fern, not if the leaves shown belong to it. Ferns spread by spores released into the air, or by their roots. The flower, or whatever it is, is fascinating! I'm seeing if I can send some experts over this way who can ID this plant. I'm curious, too!
HOLA JIM, QUE INCREIBLE FLOR GRACIAS POR COMPARTIRLA BIEN LOGRADO EL MACRO FELICIDADES
