Hi John - i could get a sense of joy/happiness form the scene but it was a little dark and the half-cropped hand bothered me slightly. I hope you dont mind but I attempted a quick workshop. There is a genuine feeling of joy coming from your son, I hope that continues for you both.

John the joy inspired by your son is heartwarming. His smile is genuine and I am sure he is a joy to have around. I have a nephew whi is autistic and I see how good he is with younger children and how he likes to care and protect them. Good black and white portrait. Thanks for sharing this familiar moment. I like this capture very much. Th emotion is clean and pure. The shadows work well too because there are always shadows between his world and yours. The contrasts work much better than the flatness of the workshop and I do prefer the greater space of your crop.

A nice picture, John. Our capability for joy is a very basic one and probably one of our major gifts. Too often we neglect it.

It's a nice note! I like the proverb! Joy is the meaning of that photo.. that's clear! Let's say a smile is an open door. By exemple yesterday a was walking back home. I was buying a big basilica plant to the market. I enjoy cooking with that fresh herb. So the walk was some fun. A big plant like that give a nice smell, and to see a man walking with a big plant in MTL... I saw the smile mostly of lady... One on the sidewalk tolm me it's beautifull.. And old lady sit near me... I knew it cause she enjoy the smell. :)
I know it's sound werd.. Just an aromatic plant... But in big city we often forgot those detail. Those details are always simple. The complication came from us :)

Hi John. I feel that posting here has set you free of the strictures of TE and allowed you to show your real pictures. They contain everything that your TE post do and more. I've chosen this from your first half dozen TL posts to comment on because it shows the real pleasure - the great yet simple joy - Andrew feels at these joint excursions. Perhaps there is something to be learned by others in your and Andrew's situation but who are trapped in towns and cities. That the pressures of life in those places is bad enough for those of us in good health and even worse for those who suffer along with Andrew. I think you are lucky to have each other.
