Good evening,

Well first the image is part of the answer why I was away from TL recently. On July 22nd, I wrote to Maryline I was going to pick up my new car . Since then I was extremely busy at the office and on the docks, keeping me also away from my PC.

As you know , I turned 50 recently. I am not a kid anymore. I certainly have less years ahead of me than behind me. So I offered myself a treat for this special event.I do not even know , if next year I will still be alive. So I traded my Ralliart for an Eclipse, and we are now enjoying our dream.

Martine and me, we love to travel together, on twisty roads , whevener we have a good opportunity. We wanted to have a roadster to travel. However, we made a compromise with this model, as we were not too confortable with the soft tops. The Mercedes, BMW , were not in our budget frame too.... So instead we opted for the full size sunroof, harder and safer top (^_^).

This model is not the ideal car for my work on the dirty docks , I do agree. Therefore, I made a deal with Martine. I am now using her car , and she is using this one (^_^) to go to her work.

This photo was taken when we came back home on that evening we picked it up from the dealer , after a ride in the county (^_^).

Technically ; Nothing very technical here; Image uncropped, untouched basically , except resizing and sharpening with Neat Image. No tripod used. I just took advantage of the lights around the house to provide the necessary light.

We do look forward more nice rides around the country, gathering some photos hopefully of interest to my fellow Treklens members or viewers.

I will be back tomorrow with critiques and comments.

PS. I was so busy , I missed the great week-end of racing in Montreal..... And what a weekend it was. Fortunately, our estimated colleague Mario ( EOSF1 ) attended and took some great shots of the event, that he will share with us. His first post is indeed quite unusual and funny (^_^)...

Tu t'es vraiment payé la traite! Une Éclipse totale, rien de moins! Et tu mérites bien de te gâter un peu!
Ta photo lui rend honneur avec cette composition en plongée et cette chaude lumière ambiante qui la fait toute rutilante. Excellente diffusion des couleurs.

Excellent portrait of the motor car.

Hi Robert,

Nice new "wheels." Certainly a very sharp car. I like the night photo.

Interestingly, do you remember the discussion we had about F1 and weight? Along those lines, I've read that the Eclipse is a fairly heavy car and that impacts on its road performance. I really enjoy light cars. I currently have '92 and '06 MX-5's- a real joy to drive, but I guess they are not very practical cars for Canada. :-)

You're a kid inside & of course you'll live more than 50 years.
It's a lovely car. I love red cars & sports one. My dream car is Chevrolet Corvette either in red, black or white color. Hope I can buy it when I become 50!

Thanks for the links re Ambrose. Being a local boy he gets good coverage in the newspapers here. The prize money he collected in Canada was about what his yearly contact was when he was racing V8's.

Next year; I will be 50!I hope my wife will buy me a beautiful car like yours : )It looks great! Enjoy your new car!

At first sight I thought it was an Audi TT, Robert - my son's fav...
Nice light here, and the new IS kit lens sure works; this sharp at only a third of a second. My compliments.
I hope you and Martine get to enjoy this beauty. More shots of it -in the country- will be welcome.

I could have suggested a VW EOS instead of the Eclipse. It's a convertible with a hard top, and surely with a more confortable ride.
