[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This has been a singularly difficult week and the image I am uploading will mean nothing to my TL friends. However, I am posting this for some friends off-site. In the space of less than a week, two friends have lost their lives due to natural causes.
It is in their memory that I post this image of another kind of "life after death."
This intriguing, slightly tilted urn caught my eye last fall -- on a grave marker that has survived longer than the person buried under it. The man beneath the stone lived less than 50 years, but the beautiful stonework and its attendant lichens have survived for more than 120 years.
An interesting thought, to my mind these days -- for the memory has long outlived the man.

Thanks for looking and for your critiques, comments, suggestions and workshops

I find cemetaries very intriquing and this is a good example of that. These colors and detail are very beautiful as is the lighting. Sorry to hear about your friends, and I think this is a very kind and thoughtful post. TFS

I am sorry to hear of the deaths of our friends. And reading your notes makes this old urn quite poignant Silke.
It looks solid, everlasting - but life isn't. And it has new life (maybe lichens) growing all over it
Attractive image on what looked like was a beautiful day.

I so sorry I was not there for you Silke, this is such a nice memoriam for your friends, who are no doubt dancing on the streets of GOLD. It's us who are left behind, but only for a while! Your clarity here is perfect! Very nice work, love the blue sky!
Love you..
Linda

A nice tribute to your friends Silke. I love the growth of moss and lichens and the colour nice and bold. Even the tilted marker signifies the age. TFS,
David

Oh Silke,

That is just what happened here last week, that is why I did not have much time to follow up on TL!
This old stonework adorned with lychen is beautiful and totally fits my mood. Have seen way too much flowers last week as well, the smeel was overpowering.

Take care and TFS
Els

Eternity, indeed.
Powerful note accompanying this well done image, Silke.
Good composition and sharpness--really captures the old look of the moss and whatever coating the stone.
Take care,

Hi Silke, A fine posting and the brightly coloured lichens has shown up so well. The old urn is particularly attractive in the way you have displayed it through good cropping and PP. TFS. Murray.
