Hello All,
Linda enticed me to come in today by telling me about the dog she posted, I figured I ought to post something as long as I'm visiting, I've got plenty of time today so no excuses! Its still snowing here in Vermont and I'm taking a break from shoveling! 6" of snow has fallen here where we live on the lower edges of Jaypeak Mountain.
Luckily this one little tree with leaves is about all we have otherwise we might be without power as the heavy wet snow would build up on the leaves and cause broken limbs etc. Unusual snowfall for the end of October, I only remember once it snowing enough to build a snowman before November. Now will this snow melt or is this winter already?

I took this photo with my new 300mm lens hand held hanging out my office window. I sharpened it up but thats about it, still learning my photo shop softwear! :)

Thanks for visiting, !
Donna

Hi Donna:

Great Picture. I like the the yellow leaves against the white background. I think you if you change the contrast, it will show better.

Regards,

Jafar

WOW! Snow! It's bright and sunny and about 65 here! Love the bit of fall left over! So glad you stopped in! Looks might cold! I can't wait to see more of the snowfall! Come back? The yellow leaves at just enough color here!
Nice work!

HI Donna,

I guess this means my friend in Maine is shoveling the powder too! :) There is nothing like snowfall to bring me a peaceful feeling. It's so beautiful (of course, this much would close down Atlanta for at least a week! LOL

I like the yellow leaves in contrast with the white of the snow and the gray/browns of the trees (birch?)

Thanks for sharing... I hope to see more snow photos in the months to come! Lisa

BBbbrrrr - that looks cold. Oh no!! I'm shivering down here.
I remember looking at your photos of your place when you moved in - this is certainly a different scene now.
I hope you do get a break before the real winter starts

Parts of Tasmania had snow in October Donna and we are heading into summer. I like the colours here with the yellow standing out nicely against the background of other trees. Well composed and good detail,
David

Hello Donna, great contrasts on this one! I like the bright orange against the white snow. Well seen and done, thanks!

Mario

Hi Donna,

That tree with the yellow leaves really is a focus point here in the early snow.
I discovered a new function in my PhotoFiltre Stdio - the histogram - so easy to make quick adjustments to a picture.
Since I thought your picture could do with a little contrast I made you a WS.

Hi Donna,

Hope everything is going well in Vermont. Ha yes, that early snow storm of October! We received about 10 inch of it here near Ottawa but it melted within the next few days.

I like how the yellow leaves contrasts with this snowing background. Tough little tree! The picture could be clearer if taken after the snow fell, unless your objective was also to capture the snow storm. TFS.

PC :)
