***Horizon left tilted for sweeping dramatic effect** (now let's see if anyone notices)

This is a casino on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. The lighting was just right so I took the shot, while walking to see Silke that day. My Tokina will only shoot at F4, 4.5, 5 and so far I have no complaints, probably will get this thing repaired someday, but as long as I get shots like this, I don't care.
I did an HDR process of a single image!
Off to ride the bicycle this morning! I had a great birthday, thanks everyone for all your comments!
B-)

Hi Linda

I hope your family didnt ply you with too much champagne yesterday! Strange to see a casino in Canada. I definitely saw them in Las Vegas but think I only saw one in Calgary. Good upward pov with excellent colour, sharpness & framing. Tfs!

Hi Linda,

This is simply awesome!
Another great capture from you with superb quality and with wonderful use of HDR!
I like the magnificient building in the BG, having great contrast from the cloudy sky. The sharpness and POV are perfect.
Great composition!

Have a nice weekend!

regards,
Paras

Fine uniform sharpness and depth you have achieved here Linda. It does not appear that your lens need to be repaired. A masterful HDR and pp processing. Well done.

Hi Linda,

Honestly, I noticed quite quickly the tilt. :) I'm not sure I understand the reasoning for the tilt though. Otherwise, I like the photo of the rushing water and the casino as a backdrop. This would be a nice touristy photo for the Casino. I would like to see it w/o the tilt though. One forgets that the falls effects produce lovely photos no matter the distance. Beautiful area of the country I think. :) Lisa

Hi Linda,

While I'm not a big fan of HDR, when it's done as well as this it shows what a useful tool it can be. The tilt gives an interesting effect/perspective. Nice work.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi, Linda -
This is great - love the wide angle which makes the building seem more imposing. The HDR treatment is really high-quality - you seem to have been able to master that technique because you do it consistently well. The water in the fountain looks glass-like. Well done.

Hi Linda...great HDR shot...you do a really great job on these images...

Roger

Hi ,
Really a nice presentation.
So beautiful.

hi linda.
'Horizon left tilted for sweeping dramatic effect'
who are you kidding? hahaha!

despite the tilt, it is a dramatic image. the pov has been executed very well.
nice single image hdr. (isn't that cheating?)

glad you had a good birthday. i hope you sobered up quickly?

hugs,
Brian

Hi Linda,
Excellent use of the vast space surrounding the casino with this wide angle shot! Even if I would have straightened a bit the horizon to bring the postlamp at the vertical, I think that the tilt works nicely too! As usual, your HDR post-processing is rightly and finely done.
Bravo and have a nice weekend! Annie

I remember this moment when you took this picture Linda:)
- in wide angle it is really good looking photography,
I can see this place in my memory so as per fragment of it... very good framing by camera, also tilt was good choice, in fact it is more dramatic, isn't it? congrats:)

Hi Linda, not sure if you needed the tilt for effect,as your POV & positioning of the Casino, makes for a vibrant image on its own. Love the sky & the partial sunrays on the Casino, while the foreground is shaded, really makes the building stand out.

Wicked HDR Linda, love the use of the wide-angle lens (I really must invest in one). Such great exposure and details, the curvyness of the horizon plays with my brain a bit though - Haha. Nice work.

TFS,
Scott.
