Sometimes when we work together we get three times as much done, instead of 2 times as much. It's amazing what large groups of people can accomplish for the good, when they band together and cooperate.
Hope you have a great Wednesday.
Linda

Linda certainly agree with your note.
Not often you get a photo like this with the butterflies, giving your both profile views.
Colors are vibrant in the wings, good composition and your 5.6 setting worked very well.

Hello Linda :)

Beautiful macro, butterflies look magnificently.
Pretty colours and magnificently realization Linda.
It pleases me very.

I greet warmly.
Barbara

Using the right depth of field (aperture) and focusing at the right place, can make or not a photo. This is a perfect example shown here.

When doing portraiture, It's important that the eyes are always in perfect focus. If it's the ears, it will look odd. If you photograph any animal, their eyes should be in focus.
(if you look at any living thing, you always go for the eyes first, that where "life and intentions" are.) We all do that "naturaly"

Here the main subjects are the butterflies and the flower. If you would have focus a bit in front, putting the butterflies slightly out of focus, the flower would be the main subject.

But here you have enough depth to include both, butterflies and flower.

The human eye always goes "first" for the sharper part of the image. It's just the way our brain works.

Now as far as the other technical aspect of this photo.
Exposure is right
Very good contrast ( good shadows and highlight) well in control.
Color balance is right..neutrals a just bang on. (notice that the white patch on the butterfly wing's and the flower are of a different shade...)))

Very good composition, not static and well balance, good use of the space (frame)

Well done Linda .....as always (or in most times)))))

howdy, lindylou.
such beautiful butterflies.
you were lucky to get both views. the bokeh is very nice and leaves the butterlies very sharp.
another great capture.
Brian

Hi Linda,

Marvelous 2-in-1 macro capture of the beautiful butterfly with superb details!

I like the great contrast between the bright colors of the butterfly and the flower. The textures are superbly shown. In addition, the blurry BG enhances the beauty of the shot. The sharpness and POV are perfect.
Great composition!

best regards,
Paras

This one on the left look like usual suspect... but that one on the right so original!!! - incredible with this perspective, also I love strong blur on BG.
Sharpness and colours are very good - really nice photo indeed.
Cheers - Tom:)

Very nicely done - checks in all the boxes here. Comp, sharpness, light, colour. Great job.

Bonjour Linda.
Je viens de découvrir ce magnifique couple de papillons photographié avec beaucoup de talent.
Les belles couleurs et la bonne netteté permettent une bonne observation, félicitations.
Bonne journée.

Hi Linda,
Can't believe I missed this! I'll have to book an appointment with my optometrist I think! Brilliant shot, the details are flawless. Love the focus from the shallow DOF too. If only the second butterfly was facing the opposite way as the first, but that's life I guess. This is the type of shot you'd see in a wildlife magazine, such high quality. Looks like a bull thistle plant in the background. Fantastic shooting.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Linda!

You have captured beautiful shot, with absolutely perfect composition! Nice to see!

Edward
