The big fire, 6
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A beautiful blue sky. Eucalyptus trees on a pasture with sheep. Set against rolling hills at the back. ALL of what you can see here lay right in the middle the path of the fires that had approached Canberra six weeks earlier. The eucalyptus trees survived. So did these sheep, somehow, they were lucky. Guess, the farmer got them out in time. However, they had nothing to graze, all the grass had burnt. Soon after this shot I saw them racing towards the gate. The farmer was entering the pasture with a truck full of hey to feed them.
The hills in the back are the Murrumbidgee Ranges, from where fire had thundered down to attack Canberra.

Hi Cordelia. What a vibrant sky. It's hard to believe the fire didn't take the trees. And glad to know the sheep survived as well. Very nice.
