[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was wondering how I would capture the wind for the scavenger hunt. Then a rather short, but severe, wind storm struck Canberra at about lunch time on Thursday. I was outside at the time and was nearly blown off my feet. Scores of homes were damaged by falling branches, and as many branches blocked roads, driveways or threatened to fall onto same.
This is one of those trees that lost a substantial limb to the wind. The branch was hanging, threatening to fall onto the road or the footpath. The local volunteer emergency service brought the branch down and cut it up (they can be seen in orange in the background).
