I woke about half an hour before sunrise.Very unusual for me.
We were staying at Thornton an outer suburb of Newcastle. Newcastle is an industrial city some 120 kilometres north of Sydney.
Thornton has a number of swamps and this one had created a heavy mist.
I could see very little until the sun started to rise and exposed the tree through the mist.
The orange and purple colours combined with the grey of the mist created a scene that was worth waking up for.
Taken on auto with the Sony Alpha. I have since discovered the sunset mode on the camera which creates lovely colours in both sunrise and sunset photos. No PP work except for resizing for Trek Lens using PS Elements 2

Beautiful shot, I love the colors. Who doesn't like a sunset/sunrise shot.
I like your composition of the shot where the tree is off to one side, and the sun is on the other. You broke the shot up nicely also with the 1/3 concept.
I do see some type of distortion in the shot. Is this from your lenz?

I also like how the tree and the sun seem to appear out of the mist....

Hi Robert,
What a beautiful sunrise with such great warm colors and perfect exposure. The heavy fog really adds to the mood. The silhoutted tree and the fading lines of the grass and trees are stunning.
Excellent work.

Niek

Beautiful capture! Mate!!
try a little bit of USM for a bit of sharpness.

Hello RObert. A superb foggy sunrise. Well composed and the colours are as they should be. Distortion I see none of and as for the use of USM that would destroy the softness of the fog. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ' Tamar Tides’
