[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was thinking about the hunt while in Newcastle to help out with the repairs after the severe storm cause extensive damage about two weeks previously. One of the things that happened during the storm was the beaching of this ship. I though that it was on the 'edge' of destruction. Indeed in the days following there were real fears the ship would be damaged and release a significant amount of fuel onto the beach. A friend also suggested that its also on the edge of the ocean. So I submit this one for the 'edge' item in the scavenger hunt.

For scale there are people standing on the bow just above the starboard anchor.

Hello Stephen
YES a very good shot for Edge! After reading your notes the Edge is much more! Well seen and presented for the hunt!
Hope it all turned out for the best and that huge ship was removed...

Tricia

Hi Stephen,
Interesting shot and note, also a good entry for the edge. We have a ship beached near us, the MSV Napoli although she was beached on purpose to stop her sinking and braking compleatly in half, I have a picture in my gallery if your interested.
I hope they managed to refloat this ship before any environmental damage was caused.
Tfs Andy

Dramatic shot in strong light

Hi Stephen, a worthy entry I feel. I have seen the photos in the newspaper and seen it on the TV news and you have captured the ship well. Nicely composed and good colour and light. TFS,
David

Hola amigo,
sorprendente imagen,
tristemente muy frecuente,
excelente pov,
buenos detalles,
saludos

Hi Stephen,
Really like this image...it reminds me of the wreck of the QE1 ship liner in the calm waters in HOng Kong harbour. Rust had eaten its way almost through...it was quite tragic.
Although your image isn't quite that drastic, it's very evocative and there's a great sense of impending doom as it sits so close to the shore with the sea lapping against its hull.
Best wishes,
Celina
