[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the lighthouse and lighthouse keeper's residence at Byron Bay. It is Australia's most powerful lighthouse and it sits on the most easterly point on the Australian mainland. Of course it's automated these days so the residence is no longer needed - it's used for social functions.
Byron Bay is a very popular holiday destination about 700km north of Sydney.
The dark haze in the lower sky was caused by a severe dust storm which blew dust from inland Australia thousands of kms. to the coast and out to sea.
I caught this shot just before the sun set - the handrail catching the last of the sunlight gives it shape I think.

Hi Terry,
I really like your composition, the lines from the sidewalk & of the fences, draws the eye right to the lighthouse. The brightness of the fence as well as its shape adds a lot of punch to this scene, without detracting from the main subject.
Did you do PP work, if so what type may I ask? I did a WS to see what the lighthouse's base was, hope you don't mind.

Nice composition with the handrail pulling the eye all the way to the light house.

Vivid colours in the house roofs and the graduated sky is really nice.
