[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For a 3 and 5 year old the sea is a mysterious part of a big world. But together it doesn't seem so scary.

A small crop, increased saturation, cloned out a distant surfer, reduced noise.

Hi Terry ;)
...too big world...
Wonderful photo...TFS
Best wishes,
J ;)

Terry,

This is a simple end effective composition. I would have placed the girls at the right (or left) side , but it is just personal.

Nice PP work.

Cheers,
Wellington

boa tarde Terry

Wish I was there and be at their age , simples but very touching composition. Goog captue with great colours and sharpness.
Thanks for the moment.
My regards
Teresat

splendide.....l'image dit tout ce que l'on doit savoir
simple mais grandiose

juste que les enfants sont trop centré dans l'image un peu plus a droite ou gauche arait mieux donner

j'adore

Oh, how cute!! love the bright colors of their cute little swimsuits .. they really stand out against that wet sand. I agree with Wellington .. maybe having them not quite so central would have a made a better shot, compositionally. Still great though.
Keep those beach shots coming ... maybe it'll help get me through winter :)

Hi Terry,

This is an adorable moment captured. I sometimes tend to make the mistake of reading other critiques prior to posting mine, and did so in this case. My first thought was that the central placement may not have been the best. Then, after looking at the composition for a couple of minutes I "got" what you were trying to capture. The "bigness" of the ocean works better from this perspective. Then I read the critiques and your reply and see that I was right.

Very sharp and your choice of shutter speed was good to freeze the motion of the waves.

Best regards,
Werner

I've observed this shot and read the critiques with interest.

I totally understand your point about wanting to emphasise the size of the world around them, and to that end, the central placement works well.

To tell that story, though, I wonder how it would've been if you'd opened that lens all the way up to 17mm so that the shot was all about sea and sky with the girls as tiny figures towards the bottom ... ?

I think that would really create an impact!

Rew

hi Terry,
haha, i like your note :-)
as for the image, the characters being too centered somehow fits fine here. very cute looking photo. rew has an interesting point, a wider shot might have looked nice. tfs. take care

Mayur

Hi Terry,

This is a lovely capture with nice subject and colors. I also read the comments and answers about the central position of the girls and I decided to take a try. See my workshop. ;-)

Kind Regards
Pascal-Eric

Hi Terry,
Simple, yet eye-catching; the perfect amount of saturation to make it "pop", and it evokes happy feelings.
All the best,
Karen
