Clivia

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I bought a clivia bulb several years ago, I planted it and nothing much happened, I moved it to a different part of the garden and again nothing happened, so as a last resort I planted it in a big tub and hey presto! some flowers appeared.
Since reading more about Clivias I realise that they do not flower for several years after planting, so I could have left it where I first planted it apparently.
"Clivia miniata (also known as Bush lily) is a species of clivia, from South Africa. It grows to a height of about 45cm in the shade of trees and shrubs, and flowers are red or orange, with a faint, but very sweet perfume." Ref: Wikipedia |

beautiful flower, i like that soft and elegant look. your photo size is too small - permitted size is 800x600, 300kb. tfs, Jeanne
Hello Jeanne,
I really like Clivia's and this is such a good representation here. Lovely soft colour with nice focus and detail. The dark green of the leaf really adds to the overall effect.
Well done!
TFS, Joni
Beautiful colours and details in the flower. Picture could be a lot larger, giving even more of an impact.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Jeanne
Lovely contrast of colour and the water droplets adding interest. It would be interesting to lower your F-stop and blur the background more.
Cheers
