The day after I was in Auckland taking this shot Auckland City Centre I was in Brisbane City centre..
I've used this shot as a demonstration of how HDR can help with a scene of vast differences in lighting.. Here I have the sub tropical Queensland sky at one extreme to the deep shadows in the street.. So ONE RAW photo with 2 new photos with exposure adjustments of +1EV and +2EV. The three shots then merged in HDR to give this result..

A good technique to learn..

A job with Emirates is a great thing, evidently :-)

The wide angle works very well here - that and the pp work combine to make a genuinely interesting image from an everyday scene - nice one, well done!

Excellent work showing a wonderful daily scene

thanks,
v

Well whatever you did here to get the result works for me!! I really like the distortion thing that happens with the wide angle. Great street shot.
I'm with Richard .. that job of yours really gets you around. Spending that much time in airplanes though? .. not my favorite thing:(

hi david :) technically, its a 10/10 :) but compositionaly and aesthetically, i find it a bit too cluttered :)

one interesting aspect is the extreme distortion at the edges :)

Hi David,
I love this POV of the building of Brisbane and also the walking people. Fine daily life capture. Thanks for presenting the HDR technique, I'm quite interested and I hope that I will be able to use it in the future (if I have more time ... once ... :)). Brightness and saturation of colours are good, too. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

Hello David.
Good idea to use HDR here.
Maybe I`m wrong .... but image like this from ONE single RAV file is not HDR .... is tone mapped picture.
I`m not a big expert but I heard this opionion on flickr.
Best Regards

Hi David,

This is my kind of place! Busy, lively, and a lot of interesting things to photograph. I like all of the modern features.

Great job on HDR. Lisa

Hi David.

So nice HDR with extraordinary atmosphere you made with this lenses. Great representatin of a daily life in Brisbane.

Have a nice day!
David

NO KIDDING! You do like super wides! This is fantastic! An amazing shot, and I love the process from a single image, it's the ONLY way to do this with people, unless you can get them all to FREEZE while you piddle with the settings. I love all the angles flying in different directions, great control of light here! Beautiful!
