Critiques [Translate]

Hi Ricki - ok, I'm trying to help here...

Treklens is a site for "learning about photography" and as such members are expected to interact with each other, critique each other, write proper photographer's notes and generally improve over time.

For example, I see on this snap you posted - http://www.treklens.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=538052 - that another member has posted a workshop for you. Generally it would be polite to reply as workshops take time and effort. No-one likes to be ignored, right?

I can see that you have been given a number of useful critiques in the past, but I can't see how you've put any of that into practice. This snap, for example, has poor contrast, isn't sharp and has a boring point of view - there's nothing here that grabs the eye.

TL is a wonderful site when used properly by people who want to learn and develop. Do you consider yourself to be in that category?

FYI treklens has a sister site - Trekearth - that is more designed for "learning about the world" rather than "learning about photography".

Hope this helps.

Hi Rick,

Keep working at it! Don't give up. Trekearth is very pompous and cliquish, but top of the line photographers. This is a good place for you. I've learned soooooo much in the few weeks that I've been on here. I see you like golf. I have a couple golf photos, and they got pretty good reviews. I know they can be better, and I know that I've learned from posting them. Again, don't give up; don't stop posting. If you post a truck, because you like the truck, make it vivid in color and contrast. Do you have Photoshop or a photo software program? I've just started working with them, and man are they fun. It's amazing what one can create out of something simple.

I want to encourage you my friend. Keep posting! Post what you like, and keep leaning. Look at some of my photos and see how I'm improving. An exception to that statement is that I posted a horrible flower photo today. I really messed it up. I laugh about it. I need to recover tomorrow.

Contact me, and I'll help you if you want help.

Dennis
