This is a small section of the main coachhouse and stables. It was used for the coach horses and thoroughbred riding horses. The photo may appear to be slightly tilted. Close observation will show that the flooring actually has two different slopes.

Woolmers Estate reflects colonial Tasmania in its most genuine state. Regarded as Australia’s most significant colonial property, this collection of buildings, antique cars, photographs, art and furniture chronicle a remarkable dynastic journey from Thomas Archer,
who founded the estate in 1816 through six generations of the Archer family.

I believe the time we really look big in a child's eyes is when we go to them and apologize for our mistakes and we say, 'I was wrong. Will you forgive me?'

Hi David, lovely old postcard shot of a byegone era. I like both this and the original shot.
Thanks for sharing.
Michael.

Hi David,
This is a great image in B&W. History shown on TL. Excellent sharpness and lighting even as the contrast is superb. It brings back memories from earlier days! Very well done my friend and TFS.
Hans

Hi David,
Beatiful contrast and texture on this composition. I must admit, I haven't seen much indoor photos from you. And this is flawless IMO. Best regards. Danilo

Hi David,
I like shots like this, the vintage athmosphare is very well underlined by the b/w tones. Very well comnposed and filled with lovely details and great textures.

A wonderful rendering! We visited a turn-of-the-century village here in Canada and found similarly rustic and attractive stables (little did I know that stills from my video camera were useless for posting, and I didn't have a still camera with me). Your post inspires me to go back there with proper equipment!
Cheers
Otto

wow, neat photo, looks like its been quite quite awhile since someone has ventured in! Neat shot, I think the black and white is Perfecto!!
nice! TFS
Donna :o)

Good atmospheric shot David, nicely treated in black and white - although I'd suggest that your photography and camera are almost too good for this to look "old."
That aside, it's a great shot - thanks for sharing

Now theres a switch, this really looks better this way than the original colour, or just that it suits the photo.
Good to see the old gear being displayed where it belongs and not just put out like a museum piece.

It sounds like a really interesting place to visit Dave. And This scene has me even smelling the dust and the leather, and the horses too! Looks good in BW, well done,
Janice

Great postcard picture. Excellent

Hi Dave,

Good idea to use B&W as it adds to the "antiqueness" of the photo! I prefer this one to the WS.

Well seen & composed
Constantinos

Good reportage shot from the passed Dave!
In general I am not such a b/w fan.. but this reminds me of my Gtand grand parents photo's (later that is )

Hi David,
I like this ancient stable shot, and like it just as well in color, although the "neon" light coming through the window is a bit of a distraction in the color shot.
Is it your own wisdom that you quote in each of your notes? It's a very nice touch.
All the best,
Karen

Hi David,
Nicely composed image - a perfect choice for B&W
Love it!
Thanks,
b.
