--- Horseshoe Falls ---
Located 77 km northwest of Hobart and 8 km from Westerway, National Park is really nothing more than a trout farm, a kiosk, the Russell Falls Cottages, a camping ground and a picnic spot located on the edge of the Mount Field National Park.

Mount Field National Park was declared in 1916 after William H. Crooke had organised a National Parks Association two years earlier. The particular appeal of the National Park is that it uniquely combines tall wet eucalypt forest and cool rainforest (at Russell Falls) with glacial formations and snow country around Lake Dobson.

Russell Falls Nature Walk
The park has a number of walks ranging from the easy, level Russell Falls Nature Walk - a leisurely half hour through stands of stringybark, mountain ash (the tallest flowering plant in the world) and white gum to a section of rainforest where myrtle, sassafras, tree ferns and fungi grow in the damp cool climate around the falls.

The falls, which were discovered by a man named Browning in 1856, are truly remarkable. They are not high (40 m) but the setting and the way they are tiered (it is possible to walk across the falls between the lower and upper levels) is quite beautiful.

The track continues and keen walkers can go to the Horseshoe Falls (about another 15 minutes) and the Lady Barron Falls (which is a round trip taking about 90 minutes).

RP Changes: Slight cropping from top, cloned some parts of overexposed fern leaves, slight colour adjustment.

Hi Alaettin,
Great shot! The scenery is so beautiful and the exposure is good capturing the waterfalls well. The lighting is lovely and the different tones of green are beautiful. Well composed and captured!

Sweet and wonderful shot. All too often waterfall pictures become cliches. This one is an original. Well done!

Hello Alaettin.

What a wonderful scene.Nice exposure and great composition.
Altogether a most pleasing photograph.TFS
Kind regards,
Robert

Great photo. Looks like a beautiful place. The lighting was captured well, and the timed exposure to capture the flow of the water works really nicely here. I like the way the bright sunlit folliage contrasts with the darker rock of the waterfall, providing great natural all-round frame.

Paradisial view! It's so rich of nice and lightfull composition! So complete! I like the tree in horizontal position!

Hello Alaettin.
What a beautiful composition. I love the way how you play with the light in order to emphasise the vivid greens! The Dof is excellent, the motion of the water is perfect, you achieved a dreamy scenery.
Congratulations.
Luci

Hi Alaettin, another wonderful shot of my new home state. Lovely colours, great exposure time to capture the waterfall as you have. Not many of the Tasmanian waterfalls are all that high but they are all spectacular.

This is a stunningly beautiful waterfall, you've captured it so well with some of the photo in the shade and some in the sun. I have a very difficult time with those shots. Nice soft flowing water effect! Excellent work....now I want to visit!

Hello Alaettin!

WOW! What a decor! Superb mood. Soft ambiance and light are simply fantastic! Congratulations. You framed naturally your shot perfectly . The fallen tree is a great addition too.

Cheers!
Robert

I like the contrasts in this picture - the water vs the stones, the line of the fallen tree vs the curves of the foliage. Tied in with good colours, this is a lovely shot. Looking out of my window into grey drizzle I'm jealous....
Thanks for sharing.....Mark

Hello Alaettin. Wonderful peaceful shot. I could sit all day looking at it. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Obviously a favorite and rightly so! I love waterfall shots and you have captured the smooth water like a master! I really like the lighting and exposure seem to be great! Also, the DOF that you have used leads my eye right into the falls. Well done!
