To achieve the idea I had for this week’s theme I travelled back in time to June of this year. It is not often I see a fog and extreme low tide on the Tamar, this was the first time. Twice this last week the conditions have been similar but the fog was not a pretty fog and the conditions a bit chilly for my lungs. The from camera version can be seen in the workshop.

Where is your ancient courage? You were used to say extremities was the trier of spirits; That common chances common men could bear; That when the sea was calm all boats alike showed mastership in floating ~ William Shakespeare

Hello David! Wonderful sails. Wonderful light and colors. Original perspective and composition. Good capture and frame. Good luck!

Great composition and tones. The mist gives it a lot of mood.
Well done
Ed

Hello David,

This is one of your classics!
The composition of three, the hauntingly misty atmosphere which just engulfs the scene and then, the few titbits of colour which our eyes search out eagerly! I just love it!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Looks so calm David.. nicely composed and presented shot from Tassie, thanks

Hi David...
I really don't mind the misty pic from your workshop... I mean..mist is mist, right??
I think mist is a very nice subject for photographers and whenever there is mist, I take out my cam and go for it!

I like the tranquility this image sends....

;-)
Cheers,
Anneke

Hi David

Like the atmosphere in this shot.
Great composition.
Good PP work from the original image.
Thanks for the very good notes as well, I use PSP and struggled to add a shadow to the image I uploaded today, found the script function after reading your notes.

Hi David,

Love the mood you have here. Really strong compo, and the misty sky is wonderful. Love the boats, they are really placed excellently in the frame. Bet this would look great in mono, think the blue somehow takes something away.

Great skill, well seen and TFS,

John

Pretty amazing, once again, my friend of many faces. We are into Shakespeare now to I see. I have used all the adjectives with your work already, and they all apply once again. Each and every time you have perfect composition and beauty captured. What can I say. Wonderful.
Warmest Regards

Hi David..beautiful shot..wonderful mood with great details.

Hé, hé, hé David, you always have them floating and as soon as Helen comes up with a floating theme, you decide to beach them ^-^.

Imagine that you can choose between a not-pretty fog and a pretty one. I would be thrilled just to have a fog and try a shot.

Again this is wonderful and a real signature picture of yours.

Excellent contribution to the theme. Amazing misty scenery. Well done.

Hi David,
Once again, this is a very beautiful view on your familiar Tamar site! Nice that you found a different POV with the fog mixed at the low tide. Great clarity despite the mist. You excell really with this kind of treatment of the image. Congratulations! Annie

Hello David
Despite the withdrawn waters, remain those beautiful wrinkles into mud that compete with the verticals of masts to compose a moody tableau featuring such majestic ships...of which captains have plenty of time to take a nap with thier beloved dogs!!
HAve a g'day.

Hi David,
Another of your trademark shots, I like the fact you left the foreground in, it gives the image a solid base. Pardon the pun.
The fog does provide the perfect background for the boats, well seen again.
Pete.

Wow, I just realized that all these boats are sitting on land! Talk about EXTREME..really nice catch here David! As always I love your processing, the comp is so nice with boats at different levels! Fantastic!

This superb maritime image would work equally well in b&w. Good repetition of the old boats with excellent sharpness. Well done!

Hi David, I enjoy seeing these foggy scenes your present so well. The tall masts and the muddy foreground provide a striking composition. TFS. Murray.

Splendid image, David. Both fog and low tide provide a terrific mood here. A very original 'negative' post to Helen's theme.
If this was my shot, I'd have it printed large-format and put it up on the wall.

Olá David

Uma foto muito bonita de um cenário com uma atmosfera de quietude e paz, gostei muito... parabéns, belo trabalho.
Grande abraço,

Another fog photo like only you can present David. Wonderful clarity with the soft effect of the fog not lost.

TFS and also the note to explain how you improved the original as shown in the WS..

I like this a lot - seems the boats arrange themselves for you in an interesting lay-out! Guess you don't need a pier: could just walk out on the water.....
