Spring school vacations are in progress in Tasmania and with less traffic on the roads I was able to reach this spot in five minutes. This is one of the views I see when driving along the main road into the city, I was fortunate this morning when I took the photo that the fog was still lingering.

The city centre itself lies to the right and out of frame but the Tamar Estuary is quite visible through the mist, thanks once again to Helen for the weekly themes.

Hi David
What amazing fog!
I love how you framed this with the trees on the sides.
Great addition to the theme

Regards
Tracey

You were indeed David,

To me it seems much to soon to be out and about after catching pneumonia. Hope you really take it easy as much as possible.

Wonderful view, I would love to catch a few pictures with fog - it always adds atmosphere to a picture.

Hello David,

I wonder whether you should be out in the fog so soon, my friend! This photography is a real driving force!

In your defence, it really is a superb shot with the sharp clarity in the f/g and the mistiness inceasing as you travel deeper into the shot.
Lovely composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi David,

Yes, you need the fog . . as it's your specialties . . but no reflection this time . .
Beautifully composed with two trees on both side as natural frame . .
I imagine your home is at above part of the city . .
Beautiful city . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

So good to see all the houses like this David. And thru the fog!!
It's a super view from up on the hill, and it is good seeing the yellow spring trees starting to shine.

5 minutes from your home..24 hours (?) from my home....what a wonderful morning shot, david! :-) the foggy atmosphere is really
great as well as the view over the city with all the nice colorful roofs around. i like the "natural" framing with the
green trees/bushes on each side. well done & best wishes, thor.

hi David

That is a lovely view of a foggy morning and if you live on such high ground, your viewpoint is far on a clear day.

tfs, bill

Oh wow David! what a view you have here! Excellent foggy shot, love the soft pastel colors here! Excellent details and I love all the color full roof tops! Nice work on this one!

Hello David

Your picture with this whole fog
she reminds me the city of São Paulo, when we are in the rain lack
- Total pollution - it is this the vision that sees her of the city.
To the I contradict than you show me, this is fog and of beautiful visual effect!
That it amazes to 5 minutes of house and tends
this view as landscape! Congratulations!

Hello David
From that high angle, my first impression was a city engulfed under the sea in a science-fiction movie!!
The diaphanous city seen through the fog...no painter can draw such an even translucent "filter"!
Have a g'day.
Robert

Yes it seems like the rising sun is just about to overcome the fog, and you just caught it in time. Exposure and composition are mighty fine, lovely view of the town. I do enjoy looking at the frequently changed pictures of young David in your Intro. Hope you are recovering fast. Danilo

A fine view, David. Busy town, and your friend the fog was there to help you make it dreamy.

hello David,
excellent POV. I like the way the mist in the BG allows the terracotta rooves to stand out more. I like the peeping through the tress composition too.
Sorry to hear you haven't been well. I take it you are on your road to recovery...good.
Bev

david,
I love the clarity of the fg trees with the lovely light and then going on to the misty atmosphere...
rgds

I bet this is an enjoyable view in various kinds of weather conditions. Love the foggy feel and the barely visible water in the background. The rooftops and trees make vaguely colorful patterns below. The trees in the foreground provide interesting "fingerprints" (hehe) and a sense of distance. Well done:)

Hi David

I like the soft hazy atmosphere from this superb high vantage point overlooking Lonnie. The trees nicely 'bookend' the shot, & add depth. Tfs!

Hi dear friend,
so crowded? :)
I like the two framing trees -
like a drop of nature.
Nicely seen and presented.
Have a lovely WE.

Hi David, A truely Tasmanian composition. The fog enhances this well balanced and framed scene. The water in the background provides a useful curved aspect. TFS. Murray.

The mist makes this town look as if painted with water paint, David. Beautiful, especially in the way you used the trees which are well saturated as a natural border to the view. Moody, it actually looks chilly there.
TFS

Nice David this one. The atmosphere and the dark trees in the front !

Beautiful Tasmania, i've been there in 2003 and loved it !!!
