I really like the "over all" atmosphere of this image David. From the light you can actually tell it is either wintertime or an early morning/late evening picture.

Hi David,
To hear the word "winter" makes me ill. I'm not ready for those cold days ahead. Anyway I really like the detail in this picture. The core of the flower looks wonderful surrounded by those white pedals. The flower really stands out against the dark green BG. Nice work.

Excellent work on handling the whites in this delicate, beautiful camelia.
The composition, with the flower serenely appearing from the top r/h corner is very attractive. I like how the light is making shadow replicas of the stamens.

Hi David,

That is a good idea, I think you can even use 2 stops - like -0,7 - when making pictures like this, the colours seem to get deeper.
Looking at your picture, winter does not seem too bad where you are living.
Here berries are growing in abundance and an old saying is that we then can expect a very cold winter - probably not - probably a wet one. That is what climate change does here.
