City Park taken towards the end of winter with the morning sun to the right, there had actually been a small amount of rain fall during the night.

Developed in the 1820's by Australia's first horticultural society, the park's 13 hectares feature fine Victorian gardens, a troop of Japanese macaques at Monkey Island, a giant chess board, a bandstand and a beautiful conservatory full of exotic hot house plants.

Winter? your winters look like ours! Sometimes green grass...and not if the winter is bad. LOVE this David! Superb colors here, very nice clarity! This looks almost identical to Shelby's college campus!

Hi David

Beautiful your look
This picture I think that it is not real!
The place is as a dream, I don't know because we are
accustomed here with total inverse of details,
I would never see a place here like this, beautiful, clean and beautiful.
He passes me a place that nobody can enter, it is alone to look!
Congratulations, excellent visual!

Sérgio

Where is everybody? In such a beautiful park with that amazing gazebo I would imagine many people enjoying it. Beautiful composition; it gives me the sensation of peace. TFS

hmmmm . . . I can smell and taste the air in this photo. We have so little change of season in San Francisco that it's refreshing to remember that where I came from we did have these changes, i.e., like in this image.

There are nice contrast in textures and colors and the whole has a feeling of freshness and/or awakening.

ciao,

Richard

A wonderful image David - So very 'British" withthe bandstand sand all yu describe. It must be a wonderful place to go for a late afternoon stroll. The soft light, darker trees and sharpness on the band stand is so very pretty and good.

Hi David, A beautifully sharp and well coloured image. The off-set main subject looks good with the sloping ground dropping away. TFS. Murray.

A very beautiful park David. Appropriate placement of the gazebo, I can see the budding trees, and wonderfully composed and exposed. Greetings! Danilo

Nice job on capturing the mood with the available light.
Really perfect positioning of the gazebo in the frame, very nice and effective composition and depth.
Good work,
TFS,

A park at rest:) I like the fresh color and light quality from the effects of the overnight rain. Nice clarity and detail in the gazebo. Appealing and well done.

This scene seems like one that could work with some Ortonizing, just for fun, so will post a workshop to show the effect.

Hi David,

Amazing park . . clean and tidy . .
I like the composition . .
Great moment capturing this scene while still empty . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

That bandstand looks lovely sitting there in this park David. I was confused for a moment that you used the word winter in your title, but indeed the end of winter.
It all looks ver well maintained here in this park - a lovely place to walk and reflect.

Would not mind visiting that conservatory, I love exotic plants.

You have captured a perfect exposure and focus on this one, my friend of many faces. I like the off centre positioning of the gazebo and the superb clarity of it. I would not call this winter it would be the part of summer the trees have no leaves. Excellent posting.
Warmest Regards
