~ Chilean Red Lanterns ~

These unusual and very attractive, red, pendulous flowers belong to a shrub growing in the Hobart Botanic Gardens, Tasmania. The shrub is called the Chilean Lantern Bush (syn. Crinodendron hookerianum).

This evergreen plant may grow to a height of 8 metres and prefers a sunny to light shady position. The flowers are vibrant red lanterns followed by red seed heads, these contrast well against the rich green foliage of this plant.

Clever PP work MP, well photogrqaphed and framed

Hi Martyn,
Fantastic PP work, such attention to detail. Well presented too, suits the colours and tones of the shot. Interesting looking plant, you've manage to get a good photo out of it. Nicely taken.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Martyn,

Another very well presented shot.
Your partial de-sat, plus the colour co-ordinated border, makes this stand out.
Fine sharpness and dof.

I thought these were berries until I read your notes.
What a shift of perception that caused!

Have a good day,
Bev :-)
