Canola crops are in full flower at the moment in many Victorian rural communities. One location they are found is near Ballarat, one of the larger regional cities in Victoria.

This field was being lit by quite strong overhead sunlight when a large cloud passed by, creating a shadow across part of the crop.

Wonderful color contrast between the blue & yellow. I like the graphism of the solitary dark tree on the hill.

Nice use of the shadows, Peter. I might have de-centered the trees at the top, but at least, you have the horizon line at the right place. Great light balance, not easy to accompish. Great job!

Doesn't that light allow you to lift the colours!
It has come out well here.
A need to get to the country again soon. The shadows come out well.
Had you thought of it again with the house a little to the right. I am curious to see what is further to the left for some reason. Perhaps that was the intent as well. Although those lovely shadows on the right would be less. It's always a dilemma. Dilemmas are nice!

Composed in a nice way, a lot of field and in the end some details as mountains and trees. nice POV !

came here to give the points you deserve for the other shot. This a wonderful photo, canola is such wonderful crop when in bloom. Just west of Ballarat between there and Learmonth are some really interesting hills, i'll have to get back there one day
