[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My home town has been in drought conditions for over 12 years now. I used to fish this lake and the photo was taken after a one mile drive into the centre of the lake. it is now a river in a valley as it was 40 years ago.

Welcome to TL Brad. A graphic indication of how the drought is hitting your area. Effective composition and colour tonings. Keep up the good work.

Hi Brad, this is good shot to shot the extend of this trouble here in Downunder.. horizon is a bit tilted but easy to fix.. good work

Welcome to TL Brad. Excellent photo typifying many parts of Australia which have been in drought for a length of time. Good colour and light, fine POV.

I had not come across your gallery before so I took a tour and for some reasons got very attracted to your very first photo so decided to write a comment on it. I really like your composition on this one which really shows the retreating lake, the light is very nice as is the cloudscape. I think your horizon might be tilted slightly to the left (nothing major but I just thought I would mention it). The foreground is also a bit dark and you might consider doing some PP work on this portion of the picture to lighten it a bit...but all of these are very nit-picky comments. Well done!

I think the only real difference between there and here is the colour of the dirt. If we go a bit further NE towards Kingaroy we get the reds. Funny how our 'black soil' looks so darn ordinary and brown when it dries out.
I have just flooded my front yard, it was now or apply for a permit to put down cement.I just had a peep at the foreground the easy way, made a copy of pic, used fav program hit brightness to have a look. I wouldnt change the colour in this because it is genuine but I do the same thing to mine when I cant quite decide what something is, sorry I have waffled again but it is lovelly shot and TFS

Hi Brad,
I really like the lighting in this shot, long DOF is fantastic too.
Thanks,
b.

Hi Brad,

Good shot here- and the title is quite suitable, especially when you look at all the different aspects to the shot. Such as, the sky seems like it's going to offer rain but it just looks like it'll go to waste, since the dry earth will just absorb it! :)

Good leveling here, both in the horizon and the actual colours/contrast in the image. My favourite part to this image is the line of trees in the back, they just look so good. Great first post, I wish I'd come by earlier. :P

Biance.

Hi Brad,
Rule of Thirds will solve the tilt problem and viewers attention will scan your photo flawlessly top to bottom or vice versa, then from left to right or vice versa.

Merry Chistmas and cheers always.

Thanks/Salamat,
Jeffrey
