This is one of many water birds seen around Lake Wendooree, on the outskirts of Bendigo, a large provincial city about 160km north west of Melbourne.
The bird seemed to have a real sense of style, strutting around the lake, silhouetted against the setting sun.
Levels / contrast were enhanced, then the image was sharpened prior to using Neat Image.
The frame was then applied in two stages. |

Amazing colours Peter, marvellous picture love the silhouette of the bird. Think the purists might like it on the left walking into the picture instead of walking out of the picture. But it works for me. Great shot. TFS

Hi Peter,
Nice shot. There's a lot of movement here, particularily that foot just about to come down. But, the light fading from left to right does it too. Such a weird looking bird! It makes it really interesting to look at, though!
I like the textures and the colors...very good together.
