The culmination of the Bright Autumn Festival is a market and street parade held on the last Saturday of the festival.
Various local bands, clubs, schools and individuals participate in the parade, which lasts for about one and a half hours.
Thousands of people attend the festival each year, with many of these people being there on the final day.
This is a photo of two of the members of a pipe band participating in the parade.

Great one Peter ! Nice human interest appeal to this image. Perfect choice to do it in black and white. TFS !
I love their concentration, great capture, thanx, M, (*_*)
Lovely shot Peter, the choice of B&W is excellent and the DOF really nice! Very well composed and well balanced lighting.

This looks like hard work! I used to make my way to 'work' and back as an Air Force apprentice, as part of a mass of similar 'erks', behind a pipe and drum band. That's twice a day, five days a week, for three years! It left a very definite impression upon me. I will never ever forget those days. This reminds me even more.
Good BW decision although I do wonder what the colour version looked like. Maybe you knocked out some colour distractions in the b/g this way? Pleasing arrangement/crop.
Darned Scotlanders get everywhere, don't they?
Nice shot Peter
I love the look and feeling of this pitcure, very well done.
Thanks for sharing it

Hi Peter,
I love this.
Black and white is just right for this, because it draws me back to the '50 with the same sort of parade in Portland Victoria at festival time where the Highland bands arrived in mass and marched in competition down the main street.
I love that fact that there is young and older in the pic. It's a real message. I love the shallow depth of field. It adds to the mood and also suggests to me the link with my past thoughts, as what is going on elsewhere in the picture is lost in memory. I can almost hear the sound. I love that one is breathing in and the other is breathing out. The single extra part-pipe on the left, together with the single blurred face on the right, sends such a strong message that there was the full band there.
There is also that wonderful cord-line right across the back connecting the pipes. It also creates a lovely dilemma when you try and work out which pipes are connected to it. Did you notice that?
Peter, just a wonderful photograph. Thanks
