[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Well, I didn't get much time this week to do what I wanted to for this weeks theme - so a shot taken in 'Fitzroy Gardens' in central Melbourne two days ago as my contribution. Considering the city's all around it's surprisingly quiet - one of my favourite sounds (or lack of it!)
Obviously it's erly winter down in Oz, and the sun's low in the sky all day.

This was with the point and shoot special, the image isn't as large as I wanted but the file wouldn't reduce below 200kb any larger..

Hi David,

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet image. The shadows of the trees from the low sun gives an interesting look to the sidewalk. It also brings out the golden colors of the leaves. I like the graceful curve in the sidewalk, I want to keep following the path.

WOW David, now this is my kind of shot! LOVE the light play on the walkway! The shadows just draw you into the shot! Nice warm colors! I was waiting for a Garfunkle "sounds of silence" pic!

very beautiful.. love the garden view that created calmness in me.. colours and light coming out of the trees are just amazing.. very well done..

*by the way you can download free photofilter from the internet if you don't have any.. its useful for a lot of things and recently i just found out by accident it can reduced your image kb if you have large one esp. tree shots ie. after adjusting your photo and save in photofilter.. the last one it asked you whether it is ok or cancel and you can adjust the compression by reducing it in low quality or best quality..

This is definitely a superb scene . . crispy clear detail of the image . .
Those leaves with golden lights are clearly presented . .
Fine details and beautifully composed . .
Very well done . . I like the composition with the road showing us the far end . .

I like this one very much; very effective with the sun behind the nearest tree. It captures the Fitzroy Gardens well.
Have you seen Captain Cook's Cottage there? It is the one that was moved from England and rebuilt exactly; it is tiny.

Well managed light and warm Autumn colours look fantastic. Side lines of the road lead the eyes gently to the deep end. Using maximum possible pixel size would have helped the viewing though 'read your note but perhaps you need to tweak the software you use to get an optimum result'. Well captured shot from Downunder, thanks David..

Nice addition to the theme for that week David. No pedestrians, no visible vehicles to upset the view. Good colour and light and well composed. Autumn colours are a pain to get below the 200kb, unless the sharpening is really necessary try to avoid that.
