[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Brook Island is a small remote island of its larger neighbour of Hinchinbrook Island, in the distance. This island had superb fringing coral reef but Cyclone Larry, last March, would have decimated the island. Fortunately, the coral grows back quickly.

The haze in the sky, is from sugar cane fires, on the mainland. (The cane is burnt & harvested shortly afterwards).

Hi Chris,
Very nice photo. I like the small part of the brook island in the front that creates dimension in this photo to present us the larger island and the mountains in the back. Well done.

I LOVE THE 'DIFFERENT' TONALITIES caused by the haze, here it's normal clouds that produce that effect, I love the azure of the water, it fills me with longing, thanx, M, (*_*)

Hi Chris,
This is a very soothing shot with the layers of colours and elements -the sand, the water and the mountains. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the note Chris, I couldn't tell about the sky until I read the cane fires. Looks peaceful and a good place to relax.

Hi Chris
Very unusual colours here. The place is serene - has a dreamlike quality about it. Very well taken and thanks for sharing

Nice graphical landscape ! Simple but powerful composition! Beautiful colors tones! Tfs!

Hi Chris, excellent combination of colours creates a really restful atmosphere. Another one of your great locations!

Strange place, so barren looking. Nice photo....

Good view! Curious how in some distance the ripples become enough small to give an impression of noise. Ho there is some noise too! The mix of both give a special texture that i enjoy!

Hi Chris,

The point of view takes our eyes toward Brook island which is giving depth to the composition. The beach in the foreground is a good addition in framing the scene. The light is well managed which is enhancing the different tints of colors of the sea. have a nice day.
